What Colour is your brain?

Your Brain is Red
Of all the brain types, yours is the most impulsive. If you think it, you do it. And you can get the bug to pursue almost any passion.Your thoughts are big and bold. Your mind has no inhibitions.
You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about love, your dreams, and distant places.

Hello I'm back!
Yes, looking at the date, it's that time of the year again - Xmas season! It looks like you will only read updates on this blog around December period hahahaha..
2006 has been event-filled and enriching, work and personal. So many photos and thoughts to share about the year's experiences, but its gona take days and nights, so I'll spare you the details.
Just celebrated Jingyi's (or Samantha, after inspired by Samantha Brown of Discovery Travel and Living *grasp!*) wedding this week. Check out some photos from the wedding at Yunhua's blog. N yes, it was my 1st time being emcee and jie mei for a wedding. Gotta say, once is enough =)

let's do the penguin waddle! NOT!

Got my pink Trexi from Play Magazine! Will buy another copy to get the white one. Nice nice =)

Received an e-invitation to a Chanukah party. It allows the host to check the status of his/her invitees, whether one is attending the party for sure/maybe/not coming. Do check out Evite where you can send free online invitations, plan events and lots more.

Have you done your Xmas shopping yet? Are you like me, put off by the crowds on weekends, decide to walk down Orchard road with our shopping list on weekday afternoons instead? Its total apeshit! downtown or in all island-wide shopping malls i reckoned, during weekends. I had to take a couple of U turns whenever I spotted a human bottleneck ahead. I do not like the feeling of walking like a penguin!

I know penguins are cute, but definitely not when made to walk like one! NOPE! *shake head*

Recently...

What am i up to recently? Mmmm.... let me think...

man.. never thought i would say this, but i was alittle moved by the chemistry between Kong and Ann Darrow (beautifully played by the gorgeous Naomi Watts). And an interesting fact i found from IMDb website is that mighty Kong and Lumpy the Cook were played by the same actor - Andy Serkis, who incidentally also played Lord of the Ring's Gollum. Impressive! Think the beauty of Watts and the very life-like Kong brought out the soul of the movie convincingly. It made me even ponder if it even is possible for a human and beast relationship, especially one that shares so many similar behavioural characterisitics as human beings.

I found myself rooting for the expressive Kong rather than woody Adrien Brody to win over Naomi Watts. I likened Brody to another Keanu Reeves - over-rated, can't act, just a looker. My vote goes to Kong cos he knows what he wants, he wants it(her) passionately and he gave everything (which led to his eventual death) just to be with her. Makes me strongly believe that for every great man on earth, will eventually fall... not due to authority, power, wealth or health.. but love. An abstract, amorphous concept... that runs through every living thing, that sees eras and centuries, so mysterious, yet powerful and unexplanable...

  • Standard Chartered Marathon 2005

I volunteered for this event which took placed on 04-12-2005 sunday. My post was Route Marshal at the 20km mark, between Fort Rd and East Coast Park. I was at the Padang from 3.30am and the whole event ended at 2.30pm for me. Though my back and legs were aching from the 10hrs shift, that definitely can't compare to what those 21km - 42km runners had experienced. Kudos to their endurance and determination! You are my inspiration!

My task was pretty simple - signal the direction for the runners and cheer them on. Since i'm positioned at a straight route, there's no need to direct them. I spent my time clapping and cheering them on, and becos a drink station was near me, i busied myself with kicking the mineral water bottles and caps out of their path for fear they slipped or add as a hindrance to their running. Highlights of the day definitely were the high fives from some runners, the "thank yous" (one Sawadi ka from a Thai runner), the man who told me twice that "you have a nice smile", the winks and the waves =) Boy, they were tired. But they still took that extra effort to make eye contact with me, to acknowledge me, and that made my day.

It sure aint gona be the last time I volunteer for the Singapore marathon. I had a fantastic experience, made a few friends and gotta be a part of an international event. Who knows... maybe I may sign up as a runner myself next year! The 10km run of cos!

watched the matinee on 03-12-2005 saturday. It was my first time catching anything at the Kallang Theatre, and man, it sure needs a huge refurbishing job. The place looks run-down, esp with the dated RENT backdrop and props. But the broadway musical was a total blast! The cast performance was brilliant, the songs were touching, funny and catchy. My fav. songs were Light My Candle and I Should Tell You. One thing that disappoint was Karen Mok's weak voice. She seemed rather out of place with the rest of the cast. But it was a worthy effort by her, and being an asian, we should give her encouragement. Next up, to catch a performance at the Esplanade. How can i still not enter the Durian yet?!
